This weekend was a BUSY weekend. I am not accustomed to being busy all weekend, so I was glad to get back home and get back to a somewhat normal atmosphere. After Daniel got off work Saturday morning he came home and went to bed to get a few hours of sleep before we started our big weekend. While he slept I got everything packed up in the car, and those of you that have ever packed to go anywhere over night with a baby...the only thing you don't take is literally the kitchen sink. So I packed everything up including walker, pack n play, extra clothes, food...the whole nine yards. We all got showers and headed on the road to Fayetteville about 1 o'clock. Our first stop was at the Cosmopolitan Hotel off Dixon street, Daniel and I had to pick up our packets for the race Sunday. We got there and got in line and these people were looking at us like we were crazy or off our rockers but we just figured it was because we had a baby in our hands. Well turned out we were in the marathon line....no wonder they were thinking we were crazy. We just thought it was weird because everyone looked anorexic there. We had no idea what was going on. We went on to get in the "5k" line....whimpie us. Got our goodies and headed on to go the see my grandma and uncle mike. We didn't get to stay for very long but at least she got to see her great grandma. It was good. Onward we went from there onto my Aunt Beth's house. We got there about 5pm and unloaded the car and set everything up for the night. We got to see her new chinchilla Wille too. He is super cute...shy, but cute. We quickly left from Aunt B's house to go see our Uncle Scott. He had to work the Home Show, so we were headed to go see him. Addison got to buzz around the home show in style in her new Jeep Stoller. We made it about 45 minutes, before the MELT DOWN!! Oh...dear....lord!! If someone would have told me of the tragedy of getting a child that is on a schedule accidentally OFF a schedule it may have helped me remember to take added medication before leaving the house. Bless her heart, she was hungary and little baby oyster crackers were not cutting it. We were going to all go eat after Uncle Scott got off so we went ahead and spared all the wonderful people at the home show from the ultimate crying fest and left and headed off to this new restaurant in Fayetteville called MOJITO'S (not the most brillant idea). It was a new restaurant with true non english speaking waiters....aka mexico natives. Then on top of that prom night was that night AND....it happened to be the loudest restaurant IN Fayetteville. So even with all this I could still here my child screaming at the top of her lungs when I went to the bathroom. Long story short we tried to gracefully make it through dinner so we could get home. To try to pacify Addison we got her a Flan dessert and she loved it!! To me it tastes just like her vanilla custard stage 2 food, and she had not problems chowing it down! We finally made it home about 9pm or so and got her a bath and then all of us got into bed shortly thereafter. We were up against a big morning so we needed some rest.

Chillin' with a bottle and Aunt B..life is good.

The alarm went off at 5:30 this morning! Entirely way to early to start the day and Addison was in agreement. Daniel and I got on our running gear and my nerves kicked in...why I don't know. But I was ready to get there and get it done so I could eat some breakfast. The race started on the square and the first people to head out was the half marathoners and the marathoners. Daniel and were in shock and awww..... Next up was the 5k'ers. We were standing there listening to the people behind say how they wanted to get it in 25 minutes and Daniel and I were just thinking..."We just want to finish!" My Aunt B was a trooper and froze her booty off with us to see us off. Uncle Scott stayed with the baby in the car so she could get a little extra sleep (boy did she need it too) So at about 7:40 we toook off. It went fairly smoothly and about 15 minutes into came the HILL....I tried so hard to make it up the hill....it just didn't happen, I swear it was straight up!! So I walked about 20 paces to finish it off and then started back running. I had a little run in trying to drink gatorade and run...note to self** need to practice drinking while running. I was so proud of Daniel, he did an amazing job and we both finished with a time of 31:48. We were so happy to have this first one under our belts, it has inspired us to seriously buckle down and shoot for the half marathon in September. We are pumped about it. After the run we went to IHOP for some breakfast and then on to Walmart were we lucked out and saw the Easter bunny. We left and headed home. It was fun, I am glad we went and conquered, I am more glad to be home. I didn't realize how lovely our home had become. You never really realize how much you love a home until you aren't in it. Here are some more pics from the eventful weekend.
